Your Inn Keepers
Hi! I’m Vicky, the Innkeeper of Wayman’s Corner Bed & Breakfast.
I love lots of things in life – my family coming first on that list! My husband Richard (Rooty) and I have three married children and nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Susie Homemaker – that’s me! I love to knit, bake, read and sew. I’ve even entered cooking contests and earned first, second, and honorable mention awards! The Honorable Mention Awards were for my Chicken Primavera recipe entered in the Taste of Home magazine monthly contest and for my Cinnamon Chip Pancakes in the Pancakes with Personality contest sponsored by Bed and Breakfast.com.
Let me tell you a little bit about how I spend my days. I don’t have a lot of leisure time because I’m busy doing research. Ohhh! Does it really look like I’m lounging in my recliner browsing cookbooks?? No, this is definitely “research”! I’m always looking for new recipes to add to my breakfast collection. The recipes I share on this site are some of my favorites so be sure to take a look!
And when I’m baking a new coffeecake – that’s product development. But the best part is definitely when I’m forced to sample that product development!
During the summer months, I spend lots of time working on my Corner that is abundant with roses, tall phlox, bee balm, mums, petunias, hibiscus and other assorted flowers as well as herbs.
Rooty and our son Rob did all the renovation at the B&B. Everyone wants him to come home with them for a remodel! He owns/operates Darke County Contractors but still manages to squeeze in the maintenance work at the inn. He’s also the person responsible for filling the bird feeders and putting peanuts out for the squirrels. In fact, I think he may have a “vacancy” sign posted somewhere because there seems to be no shortage of visitors to the feeding area. He does stop in for breakfast with our guests occasionally – especially if he knows Wayman’s Wonderful Waffles are on the menu!
